[Core DAO: b14g Vulnerability Does Not Affect Core Network Security] According to Foresight News, Core DAO tweeted that it is aware of the vulnerability affecting Bitcoin's double staking layer, b14g, and is working closely with the b14g team. The Core network itself is secure; consensus, validators, and staking contracts are functioning normally throughout. Core tokens staked directly with validators or through other protocols are unaffected. Core DAO is supporting b14g in tracing and freezing funds with exchange partners. Most of the stolen Core tokens remain on the Core chain, and exchanges are freezing deposits related to the attacker. Previously, Foresight News reported that b14g tweeted that at 17:29 Beijing time on October 31, approximately 97 million Core tokens staked through b14g were unauthorizedly withdrawn and transferred to the attacker's address. Upon discovery, Core DAO immediately suspended the affected contract and is working with the Core team, security partners, and exchanges to trace funds and coordinate the freezing and restoration of the affected tokens.
