The FBI has named this operation TraderTraitor. The FBI, in conjunction with the Secret Service and the IRS Criminal Investigation Service, observed that TraderTraitor personnel are primarily converting the stolen assets into ETH, which will then be transferred through DeFi and instant exchange services, preparing for the next stage of money laundering. The FBI is urging the private sector to cooperate, including THORNode node operators, RPC node service providers, instant exchange platforms, DeFi services, on-chain analytics companies, and other virtual asset service providers, to block transactions associated with these addresses.
