[FBI: North Korea Behind Binance's $6 Billion Theft] According to the FBI website, the FBI announced that North Korea is responsible for the theft of over $6 billion in virtual assets from the cryptocurrency exchange Binance around October 29th. The FBI refers to this malicious North Korean cyber activity as "TraderTraitor." The FBI stated that it, along with the Secret Service (AmericaS) and the IRS Criminal Investigation Division (IRS-CI), observed that the attackers primarily converted the stolen assets into ETH, which is expected to be further laundered through DeFi and instant exchange services. The FBI called on THORChain node operators, RPC node operators, instant exchange platforms, DeFi services, and blockchain analytics companies to block transactions with the relevant addresses and published hundreds of related ETH, BTC, and SOL addresses. Previously, Trump had stated that he was investigating whether North Korea was responsible for the incident.
