[Ethereum Staking Hits Record High, Q3 Annualized Yield Drops to 2.63%] BlockBeats reports that Bitwise's Q4 staking report, released on October 31st, shows that Ethereum staking reached a record high of 43.8 million ETH, representing 35.9% of the total supply. Net staking inflows in Q3 reached 1.99 million ETH, marking the sixth consecutive quarter of net inflows. Solana's active staking increased to 440.5 million SOL.
However, staking yields on both networks declined. Ethereum's average annualized staking yield in Q3 dropped to 2.63% from 2.81% in Q2, with 96.3% of that coming from ETH issuance. Solana's gross staking yield decreased from 6.38% to approximately 6%, with nearly 90% still coming from token issuance. The above data does not deduct service provider fees and does not represent the actual yield received by clients.
Coinbase stated that it is expanding participation channels for staking ETFs and digital asset treasuries. Kean Gilbert, Head of Institutional Relations at the Lido Ecosystem Foundation, pointed out that with custodian support for staking, institutions can participate through existing custody relationships. Current discussions focus on implementation issues such as validator diversification, code auditing, and fund staking ratios.
Liquidity remains a constraint for institutions. Gilbert stated that funds typically need to meet redemption requirements within one or two days, but unstaking ETH can take weeks, thus requiring the retention of some unstakinged assets. He estimates that the average staking ratio for related products in Europe is only 50% to 60%. Liquidity-staking tokens can provide alternative exit channels, but actual selling still depends on market liquidity and price. [Original Link]
