Half of the cryptocurrency world is currently engaged in a race to freeze assets—
1⃣ Tether: 37 minutes after the stolen funds reached the attacker's main Ethereum wallet, over 1.567 billion USDT was frozen.
2⃣ Circle: 3 minutes after Tether, approximately 823 million USDC was frozen.
3⃣ Ripple and WLFI subsequently joined the freeze effort.
The hackers have also taken countermeasures:
1) They exchanged some stablecoins for non-freezing ETH, accepting discounts of 12% to 26% below market value.
2) An associated wallet deposited $60 million USDT into Aave, using it as collateral to borrow 19,762 WETH (approximately $44.6 million), which was then converted into cash through DeFi lending.
3) They transferred 120 million TRX and continue to conduct decentralized transfers to evade fund tracking.
Currently, the hackers still control approximately $3.23 billion in unfreezed assets, dispersed across dozens of addresses, including BTC, ETH, XRP, and TRX, and are accelerating money laundering.
