[New Ethereum Proposal to Permanently Disable EIP-7702 Delegation Functionality in Wallets] According to TechFlow, on October 31st, The Defiant reported that developer nicolashw submitted a draft Ethereum core improvement proposal on October 30th, proposing to allow external accounts (EOAs) to permanently disable the EIP-7702 delegation functionality while retaining their original addresses, normal transfers, and contract call capabilities. Unlike simply clearing the current delegation, this operation is irreversible, preventing the account from authorizing smart contract code to run on its behalf in the future. However, this mechanism cannot prevent fund transfers after a private key leak, nor will it revoke existing token authorizations, and may also affect account recovery and asset access that rely on delegation functionality. Currently, this draft proposal has not been merged and has not received an official EIP number. If adopted, it will still require activation through an Ethereum network upgrade.
