🚨BREAKING: S&P warns AI spending could push Meta, one of the world's most profitable companies, toward a credit DOWNGRADE.
The rating agency has cut Meta's outlook to NEGATIVE, making it the first of Big Tech's big four AI spenders to get one.
S&P now expects Meta to burn $71 BILLION in cash in 2027 alone.
It sees Meta's capital spending topping $225 BILLION that year, $62 BILLION more than it previously expected.
The agency says Meta's debt could cross its downgrade threshold once new leases begin in 2028.
S&P took the same step with Oracle in July 2025, then cut it to one notch above JUNK a year later.
In July, Moody's also warned that "unprecedented" AI spending threatens the credit quality of Big Tech.
