[Accounts Can Change Signature Verification Logic in Place; Starknet Claims Post-Quantum Migration Requires No Hard Fork] Odaily reports that Starknet stated in an article on the X platform that account abstraction allows accounts to change their verification logic without altering their address, balance, or history, thus switching to a post-quantum signature scheme without modifying the protocol. Starknet stated that as Ethereum L2, its settlement, data publishing, and cross-chain bridges still rely on Ethereum and elliptic curve cryptography; researching an independent L1 would allow it to set its own cryptographic schemes and migration timelines. An independent L1 is currently still a research direction; STRK remains the native token, and there are no plans to issue new tokens. Any decision to migrate to L1 requires a binding governance vote.
