Where should ordinary retail investors keep their money?
At the OKX Night dinner in Singapore, Star discussed this topic.
Keeping it in an on-chain wallet means bearing the risks of private key management, authorization, and contracts.
He believes most retail investors should put their funds in exchanges. The platform will bear the custody risks, and you can even earn some money through investment. He also mentioned that OKX's security system is built to bank-grade standards.
Star's viewpoint is very positive, advocating for the establishment of an industry-wide joint security mechanism. Exchanges can compete on products, liquidity, and users, but security should not be used as a tool for mutual attacks. If a leading exchange has an incident, the entire industry will be affected.
After all, we retail investors enter the crypto industry to make money, not to worry about whether our principal is still there every day.
I suggest Star also publish a simplified Chinese version; the long English article is a bit difficult to read.
