A series of industry security incidents have forced us to re-examine a crucial question: are defensive capabilities only apparent when attacked?
For Trust Wallet, our response logic is clear:
Even without direct impact,
we must treat this incident as a mandatory security review.
Standard operating procedures (SOPs), code hardening, and stricter access controls—most of this work is not visible to users.
But for self-custodied wallets,
security is not an outcome, but an ongoing process: reducing the probability of being compromised a little bit every day.
The private keys are in the users' hands,
but users feel confident because they believe the wallet is continuously undergoing these unseen hardening measures.
