[HTX DeepThink: Security Incident and Tightening Expectations May Cause BTC to Remain Volatile and Weak in the Short Term] According to Jinse Finance, on October 30th, Chloe, a columnist for HTX DeepThink and a researcher at HTX Research, analyzed that the crypto market this week was hit by a double whammy of macroeconomic tightening expectations and the Binance security incident, leading to a significant decline in short-term risk appetite. BTC briefly fell below $77,000, with approximately $1.55 billion in liquidations across the market in 24 hours, including approximately $1.34 billion in long positions. Reports indicate that the security incident involved approximately $6.3 billion in assets. Tether, Circle, and other institutions have assisted in freezing approximately $3 billion in related assets, and Binance has also pledged to cover user losses. However, the subsequent progress of the incident will still affect the pace of market sentiment recovery.
In terms of funding, the US spot BTC ETF saw net inflows of approximately $445 million for four consecutive trading days, but the inflow slowed to approximately $17.1 million on October 29th. Institutional funds did not experience a synchronized panic withdrawal, but ETF buying was insufficient to fully absorb the selling pressure from the event's impact and leveraged liquidations. On the macro front, the Federal Reserve maintained its interest rate unchanged, and the trends of the US dollar and US Treasury yields continue to constrain risk appetite. With the US midterm elections approaching next week, political uncertainty may further amplify volatility.
Looking ahead to next week, BTC is expected to maintain a high-volatility, slightly weak, sideways pattern, with $77,000 being a key short-term level to watch. If market sentiment gradually stabilizes as the event unfolds and ETFs continue to see net inflows, BTC may rebound to test $80,000-$82,000; if panic continues and leveraged liquidations spread further, the price may test $75,000 or even lower. The key to short-term market movement lies in whether the event's impact can be gradually absorbed by the market, avoiding a wider liquidity contraction.
