[A16z Invests in Dream, AI Architectural Design Company Founded by Former Palantir Founders, Raising $17 Million in Seed Funding] According to TNW on October 30th, San Francisco-based startup Dream has announced the completion of a $17 million seed funding round. Investors include Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), SV Angel, XYZ, and Zigg Capital. Dream was co-founded by Andy Elder and Arjun Mathur, who worked at Palantir for approximately ten years. The company develops a "building world model," trained using over 100 million square feet of licensed building data from the United States. The model understands the spatial relationships between building components, such as the routing of HVAC ducts through walls. The company claims that the model generates drawings accurate enough for contractors to directly construct. Initial business focuses on commercial projects such as storefronts, offices, and data centers.
