Binance was hacked today, and blockchain detective @zachxbt only commented: "It's very likely the work of North Korea's Lazarus."
This group had stolen a total of $6.75 billion by the end of last year, and the amount has increased year by year—$1 billion in 2023, $1.3 billion in 2024, and $2 billion in 2025. Their methods have remained almost unchanged: Bybit's signature interface was tampered with, Bitget's transaction data was forged, and this time with Binance, there were 50 authorized signatures on the blockchain.
They don't crack the code, they just trick signatures.
If this was indeed them, the $2.5 billion to $5.8 billion heist would be their largest. $2.5 billion has already been frozen.
Let's take a look at how the most profitable department under the general has been operating for the past ten years.
