[Security Alert: Trezor Found Suspected Hardware Implant in Safe 5 Sold by CryptoBilis] BlockBeats reported on October 30th that hardware wallet manufacturer Trezor announced its security team received a responsible disclosure report alleging a hardware trojan was implanted in a Trezor Safe 5 purchased from CryptoBilis, an official Southeast Asian reseller. The device, acquired through Tokopedia in August 2026, was described as having an extra circuit board with a cellular module and antenna between the motherboard and screen. This board is claimed to be able to read the screen display, including mnemonic phrases, and transmit this information via mobile network when the device is powered on. Trezor has not yet received the physical device for laboratory verification, but based on customer descriptions and video communication, it is considered a credible report and is issuing this warning. CryptoBilis is a Southeast Asian reseller. Trezor previously removed CryptoBilis from its list of official resellers on October 9th due to a large-scale fund outflow incident caused by the sale of tampered Ledger devices. Trezor states that no users have reported loss so far. They advise users who purchased devices from CryptoBilis after March 2026 to migrate their assets to a new mnemonic phrase wallet as soon as possible and to avoid entering their existing mnemonic phrase on suspicious devices. Affected users can contact Trezor for a replacement device or vouchers. [Original Link]
