September 24: Bitget Suffers $400 Million Hack
October 9: Ledger Hardware Wallet Suffers $100 Million Hack
This Morning: Binance, the World's Largest Exchange, Suffers Over $6 Billion Hack
In just two months, from the world's largest hardware wallet to the largest exchange, all have been "caught in the crossfire," none spared.
The crypto world is no longer what it used to be.
I entered the crypto world in 2017, later transitioning from the internet industry to working as a product manager, business manager, etc., while also participating in secondary market investing—basically, trading cryptocurrencies—and at one point becoming an industry KOL (Key Opinion Leader).
Whether it was the ICOs of 2017, EOS of 2018, or DeFi of 2020... Summer, 2021 saw the rise of Dogecoin and Shitcoin, 2022 saw NFTs and running shoes, 2023 saw Pepe and Inscription, 2024 saw Pumpfun… I can recount them all.
If the earlier golden ages were the era of rampant growth in the crypto world, an era where you could pick up money hand over fist and reap 100x returns with sheer hard work,
then the risks and rewards in the current crypto world are completely disproportionate, like picking up coins in front of a steamroller.
In recent years, I've heard of several friends (level A9/A10) having tens of millions of dollars stolen, all of whom I've met in real life. This includes cases involving their own team members, and phishing attacks during on-chain mining.
The development of AI in recent years has, on the one hand, shifted liquidity and narratives away; "blockchain" is no longer the leading theme, fake projects have been debunked, and even VCs have lost their mystique about crypto. On the other hand, AI's powerful capabilities have also increased the risks for crypto exchanges and wallets, making theft easier.
The risks far outweigh the rewards.
"Don't put all your eggs in one basket"—this saying has been overused, but cryptocurrency investors still prefer to spread their eggs across cryptocurrencies, A-shares, Hong Kong stocks, and US stocks.
These different baskets are all on one table.
Yesterday, Google fell 10%. Today, Intel fell 20%. Look at the weekly candlestick charts of the ChiNext and STAR Market. Look at SK Hynix in the second half of the year.
High-yield investments always come with high risks. High risks always require hedging. Since the era of wealth creation is over, it's essential to have effective hedging tools.
A client of mine in the cryptocurrency world told me: In the years since the pandemic, not only have people not lost money, but they've also benefited from insurance. Buying insurance is difficult, and persuading others to buy insurance is even more difficult.
But ten attempts to teach someone are not as effective as doing it yourself. One-time investment opportunity.
Hong Kong participating savings insurance, with a century-long history.
Insurers are global giants with 100-200 years of history. The policy's underlying 70% is low-risk bonds, compounded annually.
Regular annual investment, forced savings, with annual cash outflows of over 6%.
Protect returns, protect family wealth.
Hedge against high-risk investments.
This is the best application of Hong Kong participating savings insurance.
An essential tool for cryptocurrency investors.
As a digital nomad, how long can I stay?
How long will this cryptocurrency market last? We don't know either.
Plan ahead, plant a tree for yourself 10 years from now.
Shelter from the wind and rain in 10 years, bearing fruit. If you want to diversify your portfolio, lock in profits, leave a safety net for your family, and a certain cash flow for the future.
