Binance's last major exchange-level theft was on May 7, 2019. Hackers stole 7,000 BTC, worth approximately $40 million at the time.
Seven years later, Binance has suffered another major security incident.
According to currently disclosed information, this incident involves assets totaling approximately $6.3 billion, of which about $3 billion has already been frozen.
That is to say, based on current estimates, approximately $3.3 billion in assets remain unfrozen. This includes approximately 18,270 BTC, 420,000 ETH, and other altcoins.
From $40 million to billions of dollars, the scale of this incident is completely different.
I believe Binance will weather this storm, and I will continue to follow this Binance theft incident.
