Binance was suspected of being hacked early this morning, with nearly $5.8 billion in assets stolen, potentially one of the largest thefts in crypto history. Around 4 AM on October 30th, multiple Binance hot wallets experienced large, abnormal outflows, prompting Binance to suspend deposits and withdrawals. With the assistance of Tether, Circle, and other parties, approximately $3 billion has been frozen. Binance stated it will bear all losses, and user assets will not be affected. As a result, Bitcoin briefly fell below $77,000, BNB dropped over 8% intraday, and over $1.55 billion in liquidations occurred across the network in the past 24 hours. Security analysts suggest the attackers had conducted prior rehearsals, with the problem primarily occurring in the signature process. The specific cause awaits Binance's investigation report.
