The security complexity of CEXs doesn't grow linearly, but exponentially. With each additional system, each new link, each additional employee, or each new permission level added to the organization, the combinations of security relationships that need to be defended increase exponentially. Add to that AI, and attackers only need to find a few key links, while defenders need to block all paths. All systems have a complexity ceiling; resources cannot be infinitely increased. At that point, managed functions should be split up, sacrificing efficiency but increasing security. This is a structural problem within the industry.
