[Intel's Q4 Guidance Weak, Stock Price Drops 23%] Odaily Planet Daily reports that Intel released its third-quarter earnings report ending September 30, with revenue of $16.51 billion, a 21% year-over-year increase, and adjusted earnings per share of $0.52, both exceeding market expectations of $16.44 billion and $0.39 respectively. However, due to weak fourth-quarter guidance, Intel's stock price fell 23%.
Intel expects fourth-quarter revenue to be between $15 billion and $16 billion, with adjusted earnings per share of $0.25, lower than the third quarter's $0.52. CEO Chen Liwu stated that the PC market slowdown is expected to continue until at least the first half of 2027, affected by factors such as rising memory prices, tight supply, and limited IT budgets. Furthermore, an accident and prolonged shutdown at its Israeli factory will also impact fourth-quarter shipments of 10nm server chips.
Chen Liwu also pointed out that the construction of AI infrastructure has driven strong demand for server CPUs, and the data center business achieved its strongest revenue growth in 15 years in the third quarter. Intel will continue to expand its production capacity and increase investment in future products and advanced manufacturing processes. (gamesbeat)
