[Crypto KOL: Binance's Suspected Theft Is Different From FTX; Market May Retest Low]
According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on October 30th, crypto KOL 0xPickleCati (Pickle Cat) posted on X that the market needs close monitoring in the next 72 hours due to the suspected Binance theft, and another round of decline cannot be ruled out. He is currently preparing for dollar-cost averaging (DCA).
The KOL believes it's premature to call this "FTX 2.0": FTX is essentially a solvency and credit contagion crisis, while the Binance incident currently appears more like a security breach. Reportedly, approximately $2.4 billion in stablecoins have been frozen, and Binance has stated that user funds are safe; however, the final losses and secondary impacts remain unclear, and frozen funds do not necessarily mean they have been recovered. He also pointed out that BTC was already suppressed by the Fed's hawkish stance and the weakness of tech stocks before the incident, and this event further triggered a chain reaction of long positions being liquidated.
Using 2022 as an example, the author noted that LUNA, Celsius, 3AC, and FTX all collapsed in succession, which in hindsight presented good accumulation opportunities, but this was not a one-off event. In the coming days, the author will focus on monitoring withdrawals, risk contagion, futures leverage clearing, and spot market absorption. The above are personal opinions only and do not constitute investment advice.
