[OKX Founder Star: Calls for Industry-Wide Real-Time Security Response and Freezing Mechanism] According to Jinse Finance, on October 30th, OKX founder Star posted on X, praising Circle and Tether's handling of the suspected Binance hack and calling on exchanges, stablecoin issuers, and other industry participants to jointly establish an industry-wide security response mechanism.
Star proposed that the industry needs a real-time early warning system: once a hacker attack occurs, participating parties can share information immediately, coordinate a rapid response, and temporarily freeze suspicious funds before they are transferred or laundered. He emphasized that speed is crucial, and standardized procedures should be established, responsibilities of all parties should be clearly defined, and appropriate safeguards should be in place to ensure that the response is completed within minutes rather than hours or days; protecting users and their assets should be a shared responsibility of the entire industry, not just a single platform.
Previous reports indicated that Circle had cooperated with law enforcement to freeze over 800 million USDC related to the incident, and Tether had also frozen multiple related USDT transactions.
