I just woke up to see the top commentator's response to the Binance security incident.
To be honest, I feel both worried and relieved.
In the past two years, the industry has experienced two or three exchange hacks, each causing short-term pain, but we've ultimately weathered them.
Compared to policy crackdowns, the impact of these kinds of incidents is manageable. I prefer to see this as a necessary black swan event before a bull market.
Reports indicate that $6.2 billion in assets were involved. The current response is that most of the assets have been frozen. The industry reacted quickly this time, and the losses are manageable.
I saw CZ's reply saying the losses might be around $1 billion. I remember Bybit also suffered losses in the billions. Based on Binance's publicly estimated annual revenue of approximately $10 billion in the past two years, this loss is equivalent to more than a month's revenue.
BTC and BNB have experienced a dip but are currently holding at support levels, so the problem isn't too serious. Of course, I hope the incident is handled properly as soon as possible, and I believe the industry can gradually recover.
Security is paramount. Go Binance!
