[Glassnode: Approximately 4 Million Bitcoins Purchased at Costs Above $85,000, Mostly Bought in 2025]
According to Odaily Planet Daily, on-chain analytics firm Glassnode reports that long-term holders hold approximately 4 million Bitcoins purchased at costs between $85,000 and $118,000, with the majority bought in 2025. At current Bitcoin prices, this holding is worth approximately $326 billion, and holders are currently facing losses.
Glassnode defines long-term holders as addresses that have held Bitcoin for more than 155 days. It points out that the $84,000 to $85,000 range has caused Bitcoin to fall four times this year; since January, Bitcoin has only closed above this range on five days. Glassnode suggests that if prices recover to this cost range, some holders may choose to sell to break even.
The average cost of holdings in US spot Bitcoin ETFs is approximately $81,500 to $82,000. Glassnode stated that ETF holders' average unrealized losses as of Monday were approximately $2.63 billion; this estimate only tracks fund flows and does not include purchase costs from secondary market buyers.
