Over the past two years, I feel that OKX has indeed been making steady progress, and the changes this year have been quite significant.
Previously, discussions about OKX (@okxchinese) mainly revolved around trading, listings, and wallets. However, this year, with ICE's strategic investment in OKX and the two companies starting to advance tokenized stock trading, coupled with the recent collaboration between ICE, Trade[XYZ], and OKX on perpetual trading, it's clear that OKX's ambitions extend beyond the crypto space.
I think this move is quite interesting. Take US stocks like MU and MRVL, which I follow, for example. Their stock prices can change drastically immediately after earnings reports or industry news. Traditional markets have trading time restrictions, while crypto perpetual trading allows for 24-hour trading. Each market has its own unique approach, and if more traditional assets can be brought into a compliant trading system in the future, there's definitely a lot of room for exploration.
OKX's role in this cannot be ignored. Trade[XYZ] understands on-chain perpetual products, ICE has the market and clearing infrastructure of traditional finance, and OKX has trading technology and a user base. Combining the strengths of these three parties is no easy feat.
One thing I'm optimistic about regarding OKX is its attempt to extend its expertise in the crypto industry to the broader financial market.
Of course, no matter how many collaborations there are, the key is whether they can be successfully implemented. Regulation, liquidity, and product experience are all essential. But at least based on its actions this year, OKX is indeed expanding its boundaries. The next step is to see how well it executes these initiatives!
