[Five Companies, Including Walmart and Eli Lilly, Oppose OKX-ICE Tokenized Stock Plan, Bringing Opponents to 38] According to CoinDesk, Walmart, Eli Lilly, Carnival Cruise Line, Arcos Dorados, and Cigna have joined the ranks of companies explicitly opposing OKX's tokenized stock trading plan with Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). Of the initially proposed 62 companies, 38 have now publicly expressed their opposition. Under a five-year exemption granted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), companies have 30 days to object to a stock tokenization initiative launched by a third party (i.e., an unrelated party); remaining silent during this period is considered an acceptance of such a transaction, and there is no mechanism to withdraw such permission.
