Seeing this new tweet from OKX's CEO, Star, makes me realize how rapidly the crypto landscape can change.
Simply put, they've partnered with established financial giant ICE and on-chain innovation firm Trade[XYZ] with one core objective: to bring perpetual contracts, a traditionally online trading model, into the compliant US market.
As a long-time observer of the crypto world, this move reveals several interesting trends:
1. Traditional financial giants are actively moving towards on-chain integration. Previously, Wall Street and the crypto space were often seen as separate worlds, but now established exchanges are directly involved, combining compliant clearing, on-chain innovation, and distribution technology. This indicates that the efficiency and model of on-chain products have received official approval from top traditional companies.
2. The compliant pathway for perpetual contracts is being paved. In the past, these products often faced numerous compliance restrictions and barriers in the US market, making it difficult for mainstream users to participate openly. This time, through multi-party collaboration and the establishment of a dedicated framework, they are attempting to establish a compliant 24/7 global market. Once this loophole is opened, the compliance process in the entire derivatives sector will proceed faster than expected.
3. Why has OKX's ecosystem changed? From previous strategic investments to the current joint development of global distribution and trading technology, OKX is no longer just a simple cryptocurrency trading platform as many perceive it, but has truly become a key bridge connecting traditional giants with global on-chain liquidity.
The rules of the cryptocurrency market are indeed iterating, and the collision between traditional capital and on-chain innovation has only just begun.
