Holy crap, ICE, the parent company of the NYSE, is bringing Hyperliquid to the US! (Huge pump!)
ICE has officially signed an agreement with Trade[XYZ], a company within the Hyperliquid ecosystem, and has also directly invested in the company.
The two parties plan to establish a regulated perpetual contract exchange in the US, using Hyperliquid as its underlying infrastructure, supporting 24/7 trading of assets including stocks, stock indices, commodities, forex, and cryptocurrencies.
ICE's original trading business was over 99% institutional, but now it's eyeing the retail market for on-chain perpetual contracts.
In the future, brokers will likely handle KYC and client onboarding, ICE will manage the exchange and clearing system, and Hyperliquid will provide the underlying trading infrastructure.
HIP-3*'s on-chain whitelist mechanism also provides a technical path for this compliant trading.
For HYPE, the most valuable aspect is the subsequent capital transfer.
The current HIP-3 deployment requires staking 500,000 HYPE tokens. Transaction fees earned through the protocol can be used to automatically buy and burn HYPE through the Assistance Fund.
If the US market adopts this mechanism, future new trading volume could potentially translate into sustained HYPE buying.
