[Bermuda Partners with WalletConnect to Advance On-Chain Economy; First Merchant Scenario Expected in 2027] According to a report by Jinse Finance on October 29th, CoinDesk reported that the Bermuda government has selected WalletConnect to expand its local crypto payment applications. The first merchant to join is the ticketing platform PTIX, with payment functionality expected to launch in the second quarter of 2027. As planned, users will be able to pay directly from their personal wallets to event organizers' wallets, without PTIX needing to hold the funds in custody. The Bermuda government hopes this will reduce local merchants' reliance on high-cost traditional payment services. In January of this year, the country announced its on-chain economy plan with support from Circle and Coinbase, and has been continuously promoting USDC payments and merchant integration.
