[Google Launches Crypto Asset Custody Platform for Banks, Plans Commercial Launch in Early 2027] Odaily reports that Google has launched a multi-party computation (MPC) custody platform for banks and financial institutions to protect cryptocurrencies and tokenized assets. The platform distributes private key shares across different environments, preventing any single participant from possessing the complete private key. Before a transaction is signed, it can also verify spending limits, authorized addresses, and multi-party authorization requirements according to institutional rules.
The service is currently in private preview and is planned for commercial launch in early 2027. Google stated that several large financial institutions have already participated in testing; Alphabet has used the technology to protect its digital assets on Solana and Ethereum, but did not disclose the assets held or the list of testing institutions.
