[Stellar Ecosystem Wallet Freighter Renamed Varial, Adds App Discovery and Token Exchange Functions] According to a TechFlow report on October 29th, Stellar officially announced that its original Stellar network wallet, Freighter, has been renamed Varial, shifting its focus to helping users discover and use Stellar ecosystem applications. The new wallet adds a Discover app catalog, token exchange, price charts, and NFT management functions, and provides malicious transaction protection through Blockaid. The official statement indicates that user private keys remain stored on local devices, and the wallet itself does not charge transaction fees. Going forward, Varial also plans to launch the Earn feature, initially supporting Blend DeFi position management, and collaborate with Lightsail to develop cross-chain deposit addresses, allowing users to transfer USDC from their EVM wallets.
