To be honest, I don't usually look at these kinds of coins, but recently, looking at the chart of @veloprotocol, it's becoming increasingly appealing: the bottom is gradually rising, pullbacks haven't made new lows, and trading volume is slowly increasing, suggesting a period of consolidation. I can't make predictions just by looking at the chart; what really makes me want to take a closer look is what's behind it.
VELO is doing PayFi, which simply means making stablecoins truly usable for spending, transferring, and converting into cash.
A few concrete points:
1️⃣ The product is already launched. The main app is called Orbit Plus, where you can complete purchases, cross-border transfers, cross-chain exchanges, and withdrawals to bank cards. Withdrawals generally arrive within one business day. It's currently available in 15 countries with 4129 daily active wallets.
2️⃣ The app has a Velo virtual debit card; you can directly deposit your balance into it and use it for online purchases in USD.
3️⃣ There's also an Agentic Payments Telegram mini-program that brings AI-powered agent payments. AI handles your payments, and you set the transaction limit.
4️⃣ This is backed by real business. Partner Lightnet has a licensed payment network covering 150+ countries, with 20+ licenses and a cumulative transaction volume of $20 billion.
5️⃣ The partners include Stellar, Visa, CP Group, UOB, and HashKey Capital – these aren't just random names.
6️⃣ The VELO token is the fuel for the entire network; settlement, staking, and governance all rely on it.
Upcoming catalysts to watch: Agentic Payments is expected to launch in Q4 2026, and VELO staking will continue from Q4 of this year until 2027.
VELO is already listed on 12 spot exchanges, including OKX, Kraken, Bybit, Bitget, Gate, KuCoin, and Binance US, and can also be traded on 6 futures platforms.
I'm optimistic about it mainly because it covers both stablecoin payments and AI payments, and its products are usable, not just existing on the white paper. Those interested can check it out and make their own judgment.
