I saw a video from a dating blogger today who mentioned a significant drop in the number of A8 male participants at a recent offline event, attributing it to the recent A-share market crash!
I found this a very interesting perspective, so I had AI estimate how many A8s were wiped out by this market downturn.
The conclusion was: This A-share market crash wiped out approximately 100,000 A8 families in China!
According to the Hurun Wealth Report released in June 2026, the number of high-net-worth families with assets of 10 million RMB in China is 2.005 million (as shown in the image below).
However, this statistic refers to "families," not individuals. If we estimate that each family has 1-1.2 core asset holders, the number of individuals in mainland China with assets of 10 million RMB is approximately 2 million to 2.4 million.
Based on this base, AI gave a rough estimate: the number of A8s has decreased by approximately 50,000 to 150,000 in the past few months, corresponding to a decrease of about 2% to 6%.
So please don't just focus on A8 when looking for a partner. There aren't that many A8s. Of the 2-2.4 million people in the A8 group, only tens of thousands are single, of marriageable age, and of the opposite sex, and who didn't fail this time. That's a tiny fraction of the marriage market, perhaps one in ten thousand or even one in a hundred thousand—extremely rare.
If you have single A8 friends who don't invest in A-shares, cherish them and seize the opportunity!
