33 major US stock exchanges, including Microsoft, Google, and Goldman Sachs, have explicitly opposed their stocks being tokenized by OKXICE.
OKXICE, a joint venture between OKX and ICE (the parent company of the NYSE), planned to launch its first batch of 63 tokenized US stocks. However, within ten days, more than half of the companies opposed the move.
But they are not against tokenization itself. On October 28th, DTCC, a major US securities custody firm, launched its own tokenization service, and 20 institutions, including JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup, have already signed up to integrate it.
