Wu has learned that Bithumb, South Korea's second-largest cryptocurrency exchange, issued a detailed statement disclosing that its internal mobile collaboration system (DaouOffice) was subjected to unauthorized external access for approximately one hour on the morning of October 27th. The incident involved the unauthorized removal of personal information from 6,444 customers, including sensitive information such as names, mobile phone numbers, ID card numbers, driver's license numbers, bank card numbers, and copies of ID documents. Of this, the data of 5,600 individuals was encrypted and could not be directly accessed, while the information of the remaining 844 individuals and 715 internal and partner employees was confirmed to have been leaked. Bithumb emphasized that the compromised collaboration system was completely physically isolated from the exchange's main trading architecture and asset database, and customer trading services and underlying asset data were unaffected. Bithumb also apologized to its customers and will assume full responsibility for any confirmed economic losses. https://www.(wublock123.com)/news/news-70933
