Many people argue that with @predictdotfun's current market capitalization, even with a 35% stake, early adopters wouldn't lose money. This argument seems plausible at first glance, but it's fundamentally flawed.
For example, imagine you've been deeply involved in a startup from its early stages, helping it all the way to its IPO. You've contributed everything, but after the IPO, the company tells you, "Thanks for your support, but here you go; I'm taking the spoils first (the alpha group is waiting to eat)."
In short, early adopters invest capital, time, and trust to make money, not to avoid losing it.
Therefore, this wave of community anger is understandable, especially considering the later, more invested, and enthusiastic participants are completely bewildered.
