Ethereum liquidity staking protocol Diva Staking announces phased shutdown, citing depleted funds in 2024. Diva Staking, an Ethereum liquidity staking protocol, has announced a phased shutdown and will not launch its mainnet. Diva stated that the team ran out of funds in mid-2024, after which three members continued development for approximately two and a half years without income or salary, but ultimately could not sustain it. Early depositors in the staking vault can withdraw funds from Enzyme. Diva stated that it launched on Hoodi this summer and ran without issues for four months, but no major players were willing to help launch the mainnet, and the team could not afford the costs of new audits and the startup and maintenance of complex protocols. Diva is concerned that AI will make vulnerabilities easier to discover, and complex systems could bypass audits and jeopardize user funds, therefore choosing not to risk a launch. Diva also stated that the market prioritizes compliance, ETFs, and regulation, putting decentralized protocols at a disadvantage.
