California’s BILLIONAIRE tax showdown is 5 DAYS away. On November 3, voters decide on Prop 40. It would impose a one-time tax of up to 5% on covered wealth for billionaires who were California residents on January 1, 2026. Here’s where the biggest names stand. 1. Larry Page, Google co-founder, is now a Florida resident, according to his representatives. 2. Sergey Brin, Google co-founder, is now a Nevada resident and has donated over $100 MILLION to efforts opposing the tax. 3. Peter Thiel, PayPal co-founder, relocated to South Florida after years of building ties there. 4. Travis Kalanick, Uber co-founder, says he moved to Texas on December 18, 2025. 5. Steven Spielberg became a New York resident on January 1, with his spokesperson citing family reasons. 6. Mark Zuckerberg considered leaving California over the tax. Meta’s new share structure would let him sell some nonvoting shares to cover a potential bill while preserving voting control. 7. Markus “Notch” Persson listed his Beverly Hills mansion for $70 MILLION, though no tax motive has been established. Meanwhile, Nvidia’s Jensen Huang told CBS he considers the ability to pay billions in taxes a privilege. “I’m not afraid of paying taxes. I’m just afraid of being poor.”
