[Banks Reportedly Postpone Bond Issuance for Anthropic-Related Texas Data Center] According to Jinse Finance on October 29th, banks are reportedly postponing the sale of bonds from a $15 billion loan intended to finance data centers related to Anthropic PBC, following a suspension of new project approvals in Texas due to grid risk assessments. This delay comes as Anthropic is heavily investing in computing infrastructure ahead of its massive initial public offering (IPO), forcing banks to hold the debt on their balance sheets longer than originally planned. Lenders led by Morgan Stanley have raised approximately $15 billion to finance the construction of a data center in Hubbard, near Waco, Texas. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that banks originally hoped to sell $5 billion to $7 billion to high-yield bond investors in September to refinance part of the loan. The sales may now be conducted in installments over the next year. The debt package includes a $14.2 billion one-year loan and a $1.4 billion five-year revolving credit facility, and the lenders are seeking to refinance part of the loan through high-yield bond investors.
