Microsoft's Azure cloud revenue grew 48%, exceeding expectations; stock price surged 6% in after-hours trading. According to Jinse Finance, on October 29th, Microsoft announced better-than-expected first-quarter cloud revenue, demonstrating that the company's massive investment in artificial intelligence (AI) continues to pay off. Microsoft's stock price surged approximately 6% in after-hours trading. In the quarter ending in September, Microsoft's closely watched Azure cloud revenue grew 48%, exceeding analysts' expectations of 44%. Overall company revenue grew 19% to $92.3 billion, also exceeding analysts' forecasts of 17%. Microsoft is attempting to commercialize AI by selling office applications incorporating AI capabilities and providing AI model services through Azure. For the past few years, insufficient computing power has constrained the development of related businesses. Microsoft is aggressively expanding its data center construction while facing pressure from investors to demonstrate that such massive spending will yield sufficient returns. As a key metric for measuring data center spending, Microsoft's capital expenditures increased 30% to $45.2 billion in the last fiscal quarter. The company previously projected that capital expenditures this year would reach $175 billion.
