The Federal Reserve Chairman announced today that the number of policy meetings will be reduced.
This year, the Fed held eight policy meetings.
Next year, there will only be seven meetings, with one meeting originally designated for policy decisions being used for more informal discussions (macroeconomic policy).
By 2028, this will be further reduced to six meetings, with two of them being informal discussions.
