The Meta smart glasses + OpenAI Realtime real-time visual and audio functionality can all be created with a single line of code using Codex. The AI can even see small print on my phone through the glasses' camera! The glasses' camera and the AI have virtually no latency in conversation, and I don't even need to say "Hey Meta" like an idiot. It completely blows away the official Live AI of the Meta AI smart glasses themselves. I'm seriously getting goosebumps. See the video below, showing the OpenAI Realtime response speed when I gestured with numbers to ask "How much is this?" (The iPhone screen recording doesn't capture the glasses' sound or microphone.) I didn't even use Xcode; Computer Use did it all for me. I bought these Meta Vanguard smart sports glasses two weeks ago and I think they're great. I even posted a first-person tennis video at the time: https://(x.com)/coolish/status/2111934464708481469 Recently, there's been a trend of using AI in hardware, so I thought I'd make something fun, but I didn't expect the barrier to entry to be so low, and the potential is huge! I initially thought that Meta smart glasses would be very closed, and might require reverse engineering or something. Before starting, I specifically had Grok Bot search the entire internet for ready-made examples, and found almost none, so I thought it would be very difficult. But it turned out to be done completely compliantly, in just one sentence, and with debugging and testing, in less than an hour The prompt is at the end of the video.
