FED HOLDS RATES AT 3.75%–4.00% AS TWO OFFICIALS PUSH FOR HIKE
The Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged at 3.75%–4.00%, voting 10–2 to maintain its current policy stance.
Governor Lisa Cook and Cleveland Fed President Beth Hammack dissented, favoring a 25-basis-point rate increase.
The Fed described economic growth as strong, supported by robust capital investment, productivity gains and resilient consumer spending.
However, inflation remains elevated, and policymakers emphasized that additional economic data will help determine the appropriate path for interest rates.(彭博社)
