I have instructed a review of all government property leases to ensure value for money. The Government spends billions of dollars on rent, and we must examine how these funds are being used. As part of our National Reconstruction and Resilience Authority (NaRRA) efforts, we will pursue plans for a Government Campus around Parliament. Preliminary analysis suggests that current rental expenditure could support a long-term lease arrangement through a public-private partnership, with minimal additional cost to the public purse. We will carefully evaluate this option to ensure that it delivers value for money and provides modern, functional and resilient facilities for the effective delivery of public services.
