[Bank of America: Investors Withdraw from US Stocks for Second Consecutive Week]
According to Bank of America analysis, investors sold off US stocks for the second consecutive week, with the communication services sector experiencing the largest outflows. The bank's clients withdrew $3.5 billion from the US stock market last week, following a $15 billion outflow the previous week, indicating the selling pressure continues.
Bank of America analysts Jill Carey Hall and Trey Brown stated that retail investors were the primary driver of this sell-off. Analysts pointed out that the communication services sector, which includes telecom companies as well as media and technology companies like Meta, saw its largest single-week outflow since records began in 2018. Industrial stocks were the second-largest sector in terms of outflows, marking their 13th consecutive week of net outflows.
