Dubai ranks second globally in the BCG Smart Cities Index, leading in AI technology and smart city solution adoption. According to a report by Jinse Finance on October 28th, citing Fortune, Dubai's government agency, Digital Dubai, is advancing government transformation by integrating cross-departmental data and AI. In April of this year, the agency launched an AI integration matrix framework, based on which it has deployed over 100 AI systems to reduce redundant construction. Its Dubai Population Now platform integrates multi-source data on residency, transportation, and healthcare to estimate the population in real time: Dubai's permanent resident population is projected to reach 4.58 million by the end of 2025, with a daily average peak population of 6.39 million, the difference of 1.81 million representing approximately 40% of the permanent resident population. In August, Dubai ranked second globally among 61 cities covered by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Smart Cities Index, and first in AI technology and smart city solution adoption. The Dubai government also stated that AI-driven government initiatives should generate over 10 billion dirhams (approximately US$2.72 billion) in GDP growth within two years of implementation.
