"Brother Machi" Loses Big: Sells Over 60 NFTs in Six Months to Margin Trades, Losing Over 1000 ETH
According to Lookonchain monitoring, "Brother Machi" Huang Licheng sold over 60 NFTs in the past six months to replenish margin for high-leverage perpetual contracts, accumulating losses exceeding 1000 ETH, equivalent to approximately $2.35 million.
OpenSea records show that most of the NFTs he sold were BAYC (Boring Ape), priced between $17,000 and $25,000 each, with the most expensive reaching approximately $59,000; he also sold some MAYC, priced at around $2400 each. His OpenSea wallet currently shows assets of approximately $2.2 million, with some BAYC still held.
The man's losses were particularly rapid in the past month: In mid-October, he grew his initial $56,000 investment in Hyperliquid to $12.25 million, only to be liquidated, leaving him with just about $21,800, a 99.8% drop from its peak. He then continued to leverage his position by going long on ETH at 25x, and on October 23rd, sold MAYC at 1 ETH per share; two of these were shares he had bought three years prior at 6.13 ETH and 7.5 ETH, resulting in a loss of approximately 85%.
As of October 27th, his PaperTrade account was completely wiped out, and his Hyperliquid account had only about $4,500 remaining.
