According to Reuters, a military court in Russia's Second Western District sentenced 49-year-old IT expert Yuri Belenkiy to 13 years in prison for financing terrorism. The case revealed that Belenkiy, who held a Bulgarian residency permit, was arrested upon entering Moscow last September. He had transferred over $700 through his Binance account to a fundraising campaign for the Ukrainian military to purchase medical equipment. Law enforcement documents disclosed that Binance provided Belenkiy's complete transaction records at the request of Russian investigators, becoming key evidence in the conviction. Binance responded that the platform is not responsible for formulating or enforcing the laws of any jurisdiction and does not comment on confidentiality requests. Legal experts pointed out that Binance completely withdrew from the Russian market in 2023, and because Belenkiy held EU residency, Binance's provision of his data to Russia may be subject to EU data protection regulations. https://www.(wublock123.com)/news/russian-court-sentences-it-expert-to-13-years-in-prison-binance-transaction-records-become-key-evidence-for-conviction-70831
