Odaily reports that SK Hynix released its Q3 financial results, with revenue of 104.6 trillion won, exceeding market expectations of 98.3 trillion won; operating profit of 83.3 trillion won, exceeding expectations of 76.7 trillion won; and net profit of 39.5 trillion won, below expectations of 55.4 trillion won. Regarding shareholder returns, SK Hynix plans to return approximately 100 trillion won to shareholders by 2026, including over 30 trillion won in cash dividends and over 60 trillion won in share buybacks and cancellations. The company has decided to implement a 20 trillion won share buyback program and will distribute a cash dividend of 20,000 won per share in the third quarter, totaling 14 trillion won, with some of the proceeds coming from its investment in Kioxia.
Regarding business outlook, SK Hynix stated that HBM4 will become its main product starting in the fourth quarter, and its shipments and revenue share are expected to exceed those of HBM3E in the fourth quarter. The company has signed long-term supply agreements with 14 major customers, securing over 50% of its capacity for 2027 and 2028. DRAM market demand is projected to grow by over 20% year-on-year in 2027, and memory supply shortages may persist until 2030.
Furthermore, the company expects capital expenditure in 2027 to increase significantly compared to 2026, noting that continued growth in AI computing power demand will further drive up memory demand.
