[International Law Enforcement Seizes Virtualine Crypto Escrow Service] According to a report by Jinse Finance on October 27th, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia and the FBI announced that, with court authorization, they had seized the domain name of Virtualine, an offshore "bullet shelter escrow" service provider. Police forces from multiple countries assisted Chainalysis.
The allegations state that Virtualine openly solicited clients for black market activities on cybercrime forums such as Exploit.in, hosting ransomware control servers, information stealing devices, phishing attacks, and illegal marketplaces. In March 2026, it launched an "Extra Protection Plan," which, upon receiving law enforcement requests, would transfer client infrastructure to unrelated shell companies before resuming operations. The company received and laundered money using unhosted Bitcoin wallet addresses. Chainalysis' on-chain analysis showed that these addresses were directly linked to ransomware operators and cybercrime forums; it was also alleged to have knowingly hosted child pornography forums.
