Government clients will receive a 40% discount on purchases of Claude Enterprise, Claude for Government, and the Claude API. This discount covers direct purchases and cloud service providers launching in the coming months, and for the first time extends to state, local, tribal, and territory governments. Anthropic expects the agreement to save governments approximately $1 billion, with no minimum spending requirement. Currently, about 500 US federal, state, and local government agencies use Claude, and weekly active users of Claude for Government have increased approximately eightfold since February.
